About WorkBench
WorkBench is a coworking space across three buildings in Valencia Town, Lahore. Anyone can rent you a chair and a plug socket. The part that takes years is a floor of people who know each other by name.
What we believe

Put 250 strangers in a room and all you have is a room. What makes a floor worth paying for is the afternoon someone two desks over turns out to be exactly the person you needed to meet.

The point was always a place you could call home for the working day, rather than somewhere you sit out until 5PM. That is why the cafeteria gets a floor of its own, why there is a games room at all, and why nobody is moved along for staying in the lounge too long.

Some months you need one desk for one day. Some months you need eight seats and a door that shuts. Membership plans are kept flexible so the space can follow the work, instead of the work bending itself around somebody else’s floor plan.
Work, break, meet
Three things a workspace has to get right, and none of them should mean leaving the building.
The open floor is desks in long rows, and the desks are the point. Take whichever one is free on a shared desk plan, or keep the same one on a dedicated desk and find it exactly as you left it. Teams who need a door of their own take a private office.
High speed internet, a UPS and a generator, so load shedding is a flicker instead of a lost afternoon. Printing is free, and there is a photocopier and a scanner.
The cafeteria has an entire floor to itself, which is a different proposition from a corner with a kettle in it. Tea, green tea and coffee are unlimited and nobody is counting cups. The vending machine covers the hours when you want something immediately.
Alongside it: table tennis, foosball, a PlayStation and an Xbox, and prayer rooms for men and for women.
One meeting room, a long table against a terracotta wall, and it is the conference room too when the session is a big one. Members book it through Pulse, so a slot is claimed in a few taps rather than by chasing somebody down the corridor.
Huddle rooms take the smaller version of that conversation. Pod rooms take the version with one person and a headset. A security guard is on the door.

Member access runs around the clock. The front desk does not. Staffed 9AM to 9PM, Monday to Saturday.
The mix
We do not publish a member list, for the same reason our members would rather we did not.
Designers, developers, writers, consultants. People whose office used to be a bedroom or a cafe table, and who got tired of both at roughly the same time.

On a payroll somewhere else, often in a timezone that runs late. The evening shift on a shared workspace plan exists for exactly that, and it runs until 2AM.

Two people who need to sit together this month, six who will need to sit together next quarter. A desk each to start with, and a door of their own once the headcount says so.

Established, small, and not interested in running a building. Furnished private offices in Lahore, billed by the seat, with the power, the internet and the coffee already handled.
